Kids Klub Now Accepting Registrations For Winter Break Camp
Laveen’s Kids Klub program is now accepting registrations for Winter Break Camp. This fee-based program runs December 21, 24, 26, 27, 28, 31 and January 2-4. School Age Camp Hours are 6:00 am – 6:00 pm. Preschool Camp Hours are 6:30 am – 6:00 pm.

5th Annual Laveen Winter Festival is December 7
Each year, the Laveen Elementary School District hosts a Winter Festival for the community. The fifth annual Laveen Winter Festival is scheduled for Friday, December 7, 2018. The event runs from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the LEC lawn, 5001 W. Dobbins.
This year’s Winter Festival will feature obstacle courses (for both big and little kids), games, activities, student performances, photo opportunities, holiday gift vendors, food, and much more!
Admission is free. Tickets will be available for purchase for select activities. Credit cards accepted.
All proceeds benefit the Laveen Education Foundation.

NJHS Members Conduct Service Project at Trailside Park
Ten members of Trailside’s National Junior Honor Society spent a Saturday morning picking up trash in the adjacent Trailside Park. Thank you for your service to our community!
Wake Up! Club Members Volunteer At Food Bank
Trailside Point’s Wake Up! club members spent some time over Fall Break preparing food boxes at St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance.
The Wake Up! club is sponsored by community block watch organizations and Phoenix Police to teacher social and personal responsibility, community pride, life management skills, and conflict resolution.

Oct. 23 8:50 a.m. Trailside Point Under Brief Lockdown This Morning
Phoenix Police placed Trailside Point School under a brief lockdown this morning while they investigated a situation in the nearby park. The lockdown has since been lifted.
High School Information Night For All Middle School Parents
The Phoenix Union High School District will be holding a high school information night, October 23 from 6pm to 7pm for all middle school families. The event will be held at Vista del Sur, 3908 W. South Mountain Ave. Find out about all the offerings throughout the Phoenix Union High School District.

National School Lunch Week is October 15-19
There is “lots2love” about school lunch and that is the theme of this year’s National School Lunch Week.
Cafeterias will be providing free lunches during the week of October 15 to all students to encourage them to try the many nutritional meals cafeterias offer. The Child Nutrition Department will offer a special menu that includes heart-shaped chicken nuggets, soft pretzels, and potatoes.
All meals are prepared to federal nutritional guidelines and include whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. The menus are specifically designed to provide nutritious meals for growing children. Visit www.laveeneld.org/menu for more information.
